I didn't really care that much, although I preferred the Colts. Yes, although the MLB has some examples of lack of a hard cap not always mattering. I think it would help the NBA, though, and make it more exciting. It's fun to have unpredictable years for everyone but the fans of perennial big time winners like the Lakers.

That's the beauty of the NFL. Yeah, you usually know who the bad and good teams are coming into the season, but nobody saw the Patriots winning their first championship when Drew Bledsoe went down with an injury during the second game of the season. No one saw the Rams winning their first championship when Trent Green went down in a preseason game and Kurt Warner had to come in. You never see a surprise team win it all in the NBA or MLB.

Who dat! Who dat! That's Payton Manning throwing a critical INT. Except for that one Super Bowl win, he hasn't been very clutch during big games.
Looks like only me and StormFan had faith in the Saints, plus I got the tiebreaker with that Shockey TD. I think that tanking of the last 2 regular season games messed up the Colts momentum and though they won 2 playoff games later, they didn't have that killer instinct in the Super Bowl. |

I feel bad for Jim Caldwell, the Indy coach. If the Colts win, he's marginalized because its Peyton's team. If the Colts lose, well, he's the head coach. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Eight teams in past 30 years is correct .
http://www.nba.com/history/finals/champions.html Lakers ( 9 ) Bulls ( 6 ) Celtics ( 4 ) Spurs ( 4 ) Pistons ( 3 ) Rockets ( 2 ) Sixers ( 1 ) Miami ( 1 ) Over half of them won by two franchises, Bulls and Lakers. |

While the NFL has 14 different Super Bowl champs in the same period.
Saints ( 1 ) Patriots ( 3 ) Steelers ( 3 ) Giants ( 3 ) Colts ( 1 ) Ravens ( 1 ) Rams ( 1 ) Broncos ( 2 ) Bucs ( 1 ) Cowboys ( 3 ) 49ers ( 5 ) Redskins ( 3 ) Bears ( 1 ) Raiders ( 2 ) |

I don't feel bad for him. He got outcoached by Sean Payton and frankly he was lucky the Colts even made it to the Super Bowl. He has yet to prove he has what it takes to be a top NFL head coach.

I'm finally getting back a little moral...my strength is returning...I open an eyelid...I try to look around...Did that 2nd half really happen?...I saw Peyton, Manning the QB position...AND CHOKED!...I opened the door and noted a strong Breeze...It was cold and chilled me...I took a pull from my beer, it was warm...Saints 31-17...I crawled under the covers and cried.

Colts didn't look good at all. Saints are for real, I give it up to them. I agree with others, wish the vikings were there instead. Bet the colts do too!

Even Drew Brees expected Payton to go down and score. He thought he was gonna have to put a last minute drive together for the win.
