Serge got a lot of first place votes and Westbrook also got 1 third place vote.

Welcome to the new NBA. Four quarters of dance competition (Thunder Girls vs. the Laker Girls!) interrupted by brief displays of basketball.

Finish this sentence, 'I never leave home without _________'. 'Mascara, Cell phone and Pepper Spray' says Thunder Girl Hayley.

It's nice to see Chandler win, as he was clearly deserving of the award. Ibaka will likely be named to the All-Defensive Team, which is also a nice accomplishment, but I don't think he deserved to win the award over Tyson Chandler. Shot-blocking is only one measure of defensive excellence, and should not be used as the "be-all, end-all" of selecting a Defensive Player of the Year. The voters got this one right.

It was almost a tie. Ibaka had one more Top 3 vote than Chandler got. It sounds like the voters were rather conflicted about it. I am pleasantly surprised Serge finished that high though.

I'm surprised Russell got a got before Thabo. We all know Russ can be an all league defender but he doesn't bring that effort nightly on defense. Thabo brings it every night on the defensive end. I know someone would've gotten a vote of Kobe Bryant had a ballot.

I am really pleased with this result, as it gives a lot of credit to Serge Ibaka and his incredible season in terms of shot blocking.
Tyson Chandler deserves it and still, Ibaka can feel appreciated.

So what are gonna be the next awards handed out?
Is Sixth Man the next or Most Improved?
I wonder who will get the MIP award and later on the MVP.
Those are the only two, which are still open, as Sixth Man and ROY are pretty obvious.

I had written of MVP for KD, thinking it was Lebron's, but now I'm not so sure.
    Hash for Center, 2014!
