I don't disagree with you, but I would guess that his being provoked was factor in the league's decision to suspend him, as opposed to giving him a permanent ban.

I thought Artest had gotten over his tendencies to pull crap like that. That was maybe the biggest cheap shot foul I have ever witnessed.

Im still under big shock of what just happened in the Lakers game before.
Im refusing to say or type his name ever again, especially his ridiculous new name.

What he did is not just a "not basketball play" as Durant called it, but a brutal and life-threatening act by a completely insane and sick person.
After that I think he should be suspended from the NBA for his whole career.
There is no way a player like that should be allowed to step on a sports court ever again.
As an NBA player I would refuse to play against this guy, as I would seriously be afraid he could kill anyone in a game.
Overreaction? No! That elbow could've killed or paralised Harden forever.

I would catch Artest out somewhere and settle this during offseason. I would hit him till I knoced him out then wake him back up with another one. It's the only way to get in some peoples head is to beat it in there right or wrong.
