Love OKC's roster, not a diss here at all

But what if presti offered westbrook for cp3?

And then, the Ibaka and Harden for Howard trade?

    Cp3

    Thabo

    KD

    Collison

    Howard

    OR..

    Cp3 / maynor / reggie

    Thabo / harden / cook

    KD

    ibaka / nick

    Perkins / nazr / cole..

    WOW!

    DURABILITY counts.

Howard has back trouble. When healthy, I'd take him over Ibaka/Harden. But I think Harden/Ibaka will be around for a lot longer.

Westbrook has missed ZERO games in three seasons. Paul has missed 40% of his games over the last three seasons.

I like our roster over the one you mention.

Trade one of the league's best shot blockers and the potential 6th man of the year for Howard?

There's a story out today that D-Ho (SuperGirl) called the Orlando owner during a recent game and told him he would not play for Coach Van Gundy again. He's a diva and doesn't fit with the OKC team first mentality.

We already rejected a trade for Howard for Serge and James. Serge is a better shot blocker to this point or at least equal. James would be a 24ppg scorer as a starter. That being said we likely wont win a title without big numbers coming from the paint each night. I might have made that trade if I were Presti but Howard showed no indication he wanted to sign an extension with OKC so...............

Also why do we always talk about trading Russ? I know he is turnover prone and a bit immature on the court at times but he is the best scoring PG in the NBA and when you only have a few guys who can score on your team..ala Miami then you need your scorers. I'm sure Paul could put up 25 per night if he wanted to just like Stockton could have but he is not wired that way. Russ is..
We should stop talking about trading him all the time and appreciate the excitement he brings...the good, bad and the ugly and pretty freakin dynamic.

we do need a scoring big man though...

Really we would be in better shape if we had maynor. the injury really hurt us badly. We wont be able to keep maynor, Harden and serge that is why I was not in favor of picking up Fish when we need to develop Jackson for the future.
We lost so much when he went down..it's really hurt.

Outside of James we have not gotten much from our bench this year scoring wise. Cook is M.I.A. Nazir seems useless lately and outside of Fishers occaisonal 3pt shot we just dont get anything of note. I think the difference right now is that our bench just does not put up any scoring besides James. We need to replace some of our bench guys who were supposed to be among the best benches in the NBA and I just dont see that anymore

A scoring big man would be nice. We only have three scorers. It's hard for me to count DC43, anymore.

As good as Maynor is, would it be beneficial to trade him and something for Barea? That little guy is always a thorn in our side. He hustles and produces consistently.

If you put what our two guys "are" (shot blocker, 6th man) you have to put what the guy we'd be getting is. So let's correct this.

Trade one of the league's best shot blockers and potential 6th man of the year for the best center of this generation in the prime of his career.

Also; shot blocking isn't everything. Howard is the best defender in the league not JUST because of his shot blocking but also because of his positional defense and ability to cover guys one on one and box out for rebounds (which Ibaka still struggles mightily with).

That team would win the championship, then Howard and CP3 would immediately leave as free agents because their top priority is playing in a big market, and Howard in particular couldn't care less about winning. Kevin Durant would spend the next several years as the only elite player on a team incapable of winning championship, and as a 27-year-old free agent entering his prime, would have to weigh loyalty to OKC versus playing on a team that has enough talent to win titles.

Howard also has no drive, no heart and I wouldn't trust him one bit to play second fiddle to KD.

Side note: I saw KD and Harden both called for carries last night. PAUL does the same exact thing about 200 times a game and NEVER gets called for it.

that sounds about right..thought CP might stay with KD but all in all it would not work

If we trade anyone, it should be Perkins.... I'd like a Hard nosed defender that isn't a liability on the other end of the court. Perkins was an improvement though, but tell me you don't miss seeing Nenad knock down open shots. We should just draft big men and work with cole....free up his salary and retain Harden and Ibaka...

Perkins salary makes him value for years to come. You don't win by trading players away that are worth more on the open market than you are paying them.
