Welcome to the new NBA. Four quarters of dance competition (Thunder Girls vs. the Laker Girls!) interrupted by brief displays of basketball.
Finish this sentence, 'I never leave home without _________'. 'Mascara, Cell phone and Pepper Spray' says Thunder Girl Hayley.
Hmmmm, the Thunder mentioned the pick on their twitter account but no story yet announcing on their official website. I wonder if that means anything?

i think they are going to do a story on him after the draft is done if he gets trade
I just don't get it
Actually..I do get it..... Either he will be converted to a SG and Thabo play the 3 off the bench. Or bye bye Maynor
Maynor is gone sooner or later PE. We can't afford to keep him. Someone will gie him starter money and we can't compete with that. Too many raises to more important guys. We still have to extend RW, Ibaka and Harden, and even that will be close to impossible to keep all those guys. Giving Maynor a big raise isn't being financially responsible, he's valuable but he only plays 10-15 minutes a night. You can get that number of quality minutes on rookie scale pay, which is where I think Presti is looking with this pick. Small market teams can't just give everyone on the roster a big raise, they have to be creative in managing the roster.
Interesting web page on a Blazers site that has some info on Jackson. Comparisons with Westbrook and Devin Harris.

Every year there is a player or two that move up in the draft from having great workouts. Russell Westbrook was that type of player. This year Reggie Jackson is one of those players that NBA Analyst think will move up from the high 20's potentially into the lottery.
Compared to Devin Harris. He is still a work in progress, but has received very good reviews on his defense, outside shooting and passing. Areas for him to work on is consistent play-making and shooting the short jumper.
With a 7 foot wingspan he will be a great player to put up against some of the quicker smaller PGs as his length will bother the PGs trying to pass or shoot over Mr. Jackson. This sounds more and more like a Presti evaluation and move....If he can continue to develop and improve his jump shot and distribute the ball, then he could be the steal of the draft.
This is exactly what several NBA executives stated right before the draft. SI's Sam Amick speculated before the draft that the Thunder, not the Heat, made the promise to pick Jackson and shut him down to workouts. He stated that the Thunder would create more financial flexibility for the future by drafting another PG and keeping them on the rookie pay scale for four years, then trading Maynor before his rookie contract expires.
"I'm OKC til they don't want me no more. You know what I'm sayin'? I wanna be here for the rest of my career. Point blank." -- Kevin Durant
Poor man's Russell Westbrook? That is what he sounds like to me.
Reggie looks like an insurance pick.
With RW0, Maynor and then Thabo coming up, looks like they want to have this guy ready to go in a couple years.
Or, could it mean that Maynor or Thabo is on the way out?
Or, could this be the guy that (they think) could score off the bench and allow Harden to start?
^^^ my guess is that he is insurance and will be spending a lot of time in the D League the next two years.
Free PJ3! Free Jeremy Lamb!
Well played, Sir. Well Played.
I suspect he'll become well acquainted to Tulsa; spend some time in OKC especially in practices and called up (down?) if an injury occured or some other player movement presented itself. All in the Grande Scheme of GM Wizard Presti.
Carpe Diem
Somewhere David Khan is laughing at us........
If the kid was 6'5 then no one would care.....But I'm not big on that whole wingspan thing....If anyone should move to the SG, it's Russ
