Even Westbrook was happy to see that happen.

Notes: Robert Yanders hit a halfcourt shot during a timeout midway through the second quarter to win $20,000. He became the first fan to make the shot in the contest, which is held at every Thunder game.

Welcome to the new NBA. Four quarters of dance competition (Thunder Girls vs. the Laker Girls!) interrupted by brief displays of basketball.

Finish this sentence, 'I never leave home without _________'. 'Mascara, Cell phone and Pepper Spray' says Thunder Girl Hayley.

I'm so used to seeing them miss that I was only watching with half an eye. He was very accurate with his free throw shooting though and I had a feeling he might make it before he shot. He's going to have a good Christmas.

You know what's funny about this? I was standing in line with my girlfriend waiting to get something to drink when they started the free throws. After they finished, I told my girlfriend to get our **** because I'm going to go watch this dude win 20 grand. And what do you freakin know, he made it. Funny how coincidences work.

Does anybody remember when the dude hit the half court shot to win a Mustang when the Hornets were here? Insurance rates on these are going to have to be going up for the sponsors

The Mustang car gift was only a loaner for one free year.

Hopefully the guy last night doesn't have to pay back the cash as a one free year loan.

A guy hit a half court shot a few weeks ago in Dallas at a Mavs game and won a Nowitzki autograph jersey. Nice giveaway from owner Mark Cuban!

I think they went ahead and gave him the car free and clear after some public outcry. Whichever car dealer sponsored this made it right.

I was at THAT game, wish I could have made the game yesterday!

Oh yeah, congrats! Not a bad paycheck for a halftimes work.

MidFirst has probably gotten more national exposure for this than they could ever buy for $20,000. Money well spent, I'd say.

In hindsight, is this really fair? I mean, I know, he's not a professional, but he's not a raw, first time picking up a basketball amateur either. It was still exciting when he hit it, but his background kind of mucks it up a little for me.
