Sitting in our season ticket seats in section 304. Its the 4th period, and the announcer yells: "everybody get on your feet, and cheer for your team!" There is probably 3 or 4 minutes left in the game. So, my son and I stand up, and start making some noise.

Well, about 3 rows directly above us, I keep hearing, sit down, sit down, I can't see, sit down, we can't see. I didn't know who they were talking to, so I ignore them. A minute later, I hear it again, and again, so I turn around and this little, fat, girl is sitting there yelling at me to sit down. I would guess her age about 12 or so. I didn't say anything, and I just turned back around and did my thing.

So, here we go again. She's yelling and yelling for us to sit down. I finally turned around and said: " I'm not sitting down, this is a basketball game, it you want to sit down, stay at home". And I turn back around.

Now I get a tap on my right shoulder. This man is now leaning from behind, in my face. He says: "What did you say to my daughter?" I then told him exactly what I said. He then tells me to sit the eff down. I told him "NO, I'm at a basketball game, if you want to sit down, stay at home and watch it on tv".

So, that pretty much ruined my whole night and experience. I missed most of the end of the game because of this jerk. What is it with people? I am tired of people acting like this. EVERYBODY was standing! If they're gonna get mad, why don't they move a few seats down? They were all empty. Or, they could've stood up and cheered, instead of ruining my night.

After the dad came and said that, we stayed there standing for the last minute. That dad let his little girl cuss and yell, and call and adult names just because I was standing at a basketball game in the last few minutes of an NBA game.

I think the disgusting thing is that the dad let his minor daughter cuss out an adult. What a great dad.

    People suck.

You made your mistake when you yelled at a kid.

Just ignore them (of any age) next time and stand up (at the beginning and ending of games).

I guess you're right. It had been going on a long time though. I ignored it for a long time. I don't think I said anything rude or bad to her though. I just can't believe that dad let her sit there like that, and then get in my face. Never had anything like this ever happen before.

Nice job standing your ground. But be careful man, there's no telling how many cousins they've got.

See, I don't have a problem with you standing up cheering! But I do have a problem with you referring to what race the people were. What does that have to do with it? It has nothing to do with the bottom line! You need to check yourself! It doesn't matter if the kid or people were green, yellow, white, fat, or skinny! What up with you?...I don't know you, but you remind me of alot of people who I don't like for that very reason! Look in the mirror dude!

Here we go with race. You're right it doesn't make a difference what race they were. I was stating a Fact. Race has nothing to do with it. Please don't turn it into that. You don't know me and you're far off with that comment.

Yeah probably didn't need to mention the skin colour of the person in question, but in the context of the story, I don't think that was intended as a racist remark.

Your the one who brought up race! You wrote it! Take it back then! Edit your statement! You sound very bad! If you don't change it, then I guess that's a reflection on who you are!

No its not. If the guy was bald with tato's i bet he would have written that. Besides "Black" isn't a race. You are making yourself sound over sensitive and making a big deal about nothing. Chill.

I'm not making a big deal out of it! It sounds bad. I'm not overly nothing! Believe me, you sound like a clown if you must include race in the context of a simple story. Race was included for some reason I suppose! If you can't understand that, I'm sorry! If you told me that story in person, I would tell you the same thing! I don't like it! Never have, never will. I will say so!

Sorry to hear about that, I've gotten the same thing at OU football games, never to that extent where it turned into an actual face to face confrontation, but I know the feeling. It makes you feel awkward and defensive for standing and cheering for your team. Regardless of race, age, etc, letting your daughter curse at someone for standing and cheering is completely uncalled for. If you really expect someone to sit down for an entire sporting event then you really should stay at home and watch on tv where no one will stand up in front of you.

I changed it. I was not intending this to be racial at all. I was stating a FACT. Like somebody else said if the guy was bald I would have said it. I was just describing what the person looked like.
