Silas says Byron Mullens is a power forward, not center

Charlotte Bobcats coach Paul Silas said before Monday’s game that 7-footer Byron Mullens’ future is at power forward, possibly alongside rookie Bismack Biyombo. Mullens just isn’t providing the consistent rebounding and low-post defense Mullens needs at center.
“Byron is not a center… He’s a power forward, but we don’t have a backup center,’’ Silas said. “I just don’t know if you can make a tough guy out somebody who is not (tough.)”
Mullens came to the Bobcats in a preseason trade. The Bobcats sent a 2013 second-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Considering how crappy he is as a Center, I'd say this is pretty accurate.

I think we all already knew what Silas said, yet we had a 6-page thread in the Draft and Trade Talk forum that turned into a debate about Presti making a huge mistake in trading Mullens and keeping Aldrich.

I have no problem with PE, don't recall much about that debate either, but then ... there's a lot I don't recall , these days.

So you have league pass? Why are you watching all of the Bobcats' games? Seems like if you could get every game you would be watching more significant teams.

I have it, and sometimes I watch just to see Mullens and DJ White, or the team they are playing. Is there something wrong with that? Many times the good games are on network TV so the Bobcats are what is left to flip to on commercials.

Nah, nothing wrong with it. Just surprised. Even with DJ and Byron, I can't say that I would pick Bobcats games when I had league pass. But to each his own.

I'm not nuts or anything, just a few minutes at a time.

Oh please..... BJ Mullens is still having the better career. Paul Silas should not be throwing players under the bus when his team sucks that bad.
Mullens will get abused at the 4 spot.....The lack of talent at Center helps him out IMO.

He gets abused at the 5 too. I suspect you haven't even watched him play, just checked a box score now and then. The Bobcats would be much better off with Cole.

Mullins played very well against the Celtics on Monday. But then again since the Celtics lost Perk, every big with a pulse plays well against them.
