Hmmm - its pretty much the only sport I follow. Its the only video game I play and aside from drinking with friends and bonking its my only escape from my long working weeks.
So i'd say its a 14 on the international scale of important-ness.
I've always loved NBA basketball, but I'd say I follow it much more closely now that we actually have a team of our own to root for.
But as far as the whole "live and breathe" thing goes......that's kinda reserved for OU football, although I have a feeling our college football standards are gonna spill over onto our NBA team, but I think the Thunder are up to the challenge.

bahahahah this is one of those American sayings that crack me up
here is Urban dictionary's definition
1. root :
"1. A Kiwi/Australian slang that is used in place of the more commonly used term "f*ck."
1. You're rooted! (You're f*cked)
2. If ya wanna root just ask! (If ya wanna f*ck just ask)"
you can see why i find it humerous....

How high does that international scale of important-ness go? :D
Honestly, the NBA in general isn't the most important thing to me. For me hockey is way more important and baseball is more important as well.
On the American scale of important-ness that goes to 10, I'd give the NBA about a 7.1 or thereabouts.

I follow all sports, so I wouldn't take to much of a blow....but I do love having a team so close to where I live...Memphis used to be the closest.
8.4 on the IINS

Nah, I had the words "made in America" tatoo'd on my ass. As soon as they see that they'll freak out and call the imperial system people....and THOSE people happen to be my neighbours.
So all in all I'd say I am an easy 17 on the on the international scale of safe from the Metric fuggers.

It's up to #3 on my go to sports. Not long ago, it wasn't even in my top 5 sports to watch. Thunder basketball is pretty important to me, as I go to as many games as I can. But the college game is what I grew up on..

3. All other sports (actually, I follow the Vikings and the Twins, but they're far below 1 and 2).
I've loved basketball as long as I can remember. It's the only sport I've ever watched on television when my team isn't playing. Having an NBA team here is a dream come true.

1. OU football My first love and will always be #1.
2. Thunder/ Yankees/ Dallas Cowboys These are too close to pick between.
I love all my teams so much that I will sit in one position for a whole game if we are playing good and always go through the same routines before every game. I've been told I'm a little too dedicated to my teams.lol

I was rooting around in my attic the other day and I found an old album by the band root (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_(band)) I decided to listen to them while digging up a big root that looked like it was going to get under my sidewalk. I told a friend of mine about my root and he came to help me dig it out. I really appreciate how my friends root for me and want me to succeed. Anyway, once we started, my friend just sat on the root and didn't put in any work. It was like she was rooted to the spot! As I listened to root while digging the root, with no one to root for me, I started to get pissed. Fortunately, my friend is a hot chick, so she gave me a good root that night to make up for it.

It's have moved up my priority list significantly in the past two years.
1A. Thunder Basketball
1B. OSU Football
2. OSU Basketball
3. College Football (in general)
4. Red Sox Baseball
5. NFL
If I had to give up either my Thunder season tickets or OSU season tickets, I'd keep the Thunder tickets. Much more family friendly and a better value ($1200 for 4 endzone seats, 7 games or $1720 for 4 third row of loud city, 43 games).

Yes, I grew up in the Midwest (Upper Michigan) and lived in the Bay Area for many years before moving to Seattle and have taken a little of each from each stop. The thing the Packers, Thunder, and A's all have in common is really good GMs who spend their money wisely (Ted Thompson, Sam Presti, Billy Beane). I enjoy watching how all of them operate.
Our local high school football team has won the state championship 3 years in a row.
