Anyone else find it interesting that the team never had a formal introduction for Daequan Cook or Morris Peterson? I feel like they should be acknowledged in some way.

It makes it sound like there is no guarantee they will be here on opening night.

Which is kind of a shame, considering they both seem to want to be here. We've seen Peterson's comments, and Cook was in Orlando watching Summer League games with KD.

It's possible they wanted to wait until after Summer League games and then introduce the highest draft pick first.

it would be stupid to have a big press conference for them 2 and then at opening night they get cut so they are not sure if they will be on the team for attire time during the 2010-2011 season

The Thunder had a half-page color ad in the Daily Oklahoman welcoming all the new players over the weekend (Reid, Cook, Peterson, Aldrich, Pleiss and Williams). This was a pretty good way to handle it, considering that we KNOW Pleiss will be in Europe, Reid will probably be in Tulsa and Williams knows there is no guaranteed roster spot for him. Cook and Mo Pete were placed on the same level as a second round pick or D-Leaguer.

Do we normally do this for guys acquired via trade?

Cole will be a welcome addition to the Thunder family.
Just like Serge Ibaka, it might be in the best interest of the Thunder to allow Cole to develop.

Well you can't just throw that little tidbit out there and not expand on it, Tordon! Was there discussion about the ad giving the impression that established NBA players Peterson and Cook were being portrayed as equals with untested rookies or journeymen?

Why does Scott Brooks look like the Emperor from Star Wars?

Why does Scott Brooks look like the Emperor from Star Wars?
Why does Sam Presti look like Noah Bennet from Heroes?

Actually I did overhear a bit of discussion saying that all players should be the same size, but Cole should be in the middle because "he's the guy" if I remember correctly. Originally he was not in the center and they changed it.
The only other thing of note is that both Aldrich and Pleiss had hefty fees for usage of their photos but Kansas was nice enough to supply us with one for free and Pleiss' "people" did the same...on Monday, so it was too late.

How the hell they have a "hefty" fee for usage of their photo? Don't they work for US? Thunder should be able to photo their wee-wee and paste it on the side of a building :D ...well, ok, not necessarily THAT but ya get the idea
