What is Bennett going to likely use this team for? Does Tulsa even care about the team? I hardly ever see any news about the 66ers in the Tulsa newspaper, much less interest of the Thunder in Tulsa. He had to have bought the team to send a lot of Thunder players down since the Thunder are full of young players.

Think of the 66ers like a AAA Baseball Team, and as the farm club of the Thunder. The 66ers will get most of their players through the NBDL Draft (which is composed mostly of washed up veterans (they have Keith Closs on the roster now), and young guns that aren't quite good enough for the NBA/haven't been discovered yet). The Thunder won't send down more than a player or two a year, and even then, it probably won't be for an extended period. Last year, the team sent down Sene.

Well, the NBADL is really taking off. They have a list of cities begging for a team. Portland, ME signed a contract to improve their arena for an expansion team to begin next year.
I think once the league gets to 30 teams (or at least continues to gain teams which would mean less sharing of teams), the league will become like AAA baseball where the rosters will stick from year to year. Also, there has to be changes to the NBA's collective bargaining agreement to change the rules in which players can be sent down, and just how much power the NBA teams have. Currently you can only be sent down if you are a rookie or 2nd year player. It would be nice for CBA changes to allow for veterans coming off of injuries to play in the NBADL to get their conditioning and game-playing experience back to where it needs to be.
Overall, the league is rising quickly. Nice websites those teams have anyway. :)

I think (hope) that as interest in the Thunder grows around the state, that interest will increase visibility for the 66ers. I thought it was a great idea for Bennett et al to buy the team, and I hope Tulsa enjoys the fact that they've got professional basketball right at hand.

They have Ryan Humphrey and Keith Closs already. WOOOHOO!
Sounds like the 66ers are going to be the OU basketball alumni team.
