View Full Version : KG's press conference

I didn't post anything about this last night, but the Boston papers are full of it. Did you all see KG's comment that KD is not Michael ****ing Jordan? He and Paul Pierce spent most of their press conference whining about free throws, rather than taking any blame. Thank heavens we don't have to deal with that kind of attitude here. I like the "we screwed up" or "we didn't play as well as we should have" attitude you get in press conferences here. I would hate to listen to whining about why the team didn't win. The blame myself rather than complain about the other team attitude starts with Scott Brooks, and I'm grateful for it.
And, to rebut. Celtics outscored the Thunder in the paint by 16 points. Krstic pretty much watched them score, and if he had contested those shots they would have gotten their 16 free throws. Many teams don't score 60% because they're going to the free throw line more. It's hard to have both high scoring percentage and a lot of free throws.

Funny thing is that Boston only had 4 more fouls called on them than we did. Collison fouled out, Serge had five, James and Nenad had three each.
I wouldn't exactly say that the fouls calls were lopsided.
This is one of the reason that the Celtics and Lakers annoy me. They feel that they are entitled to mug the other team and not have fouls called against them.

WOW. What happened to "no excuses"?!? What happened to "they hit their shots down the stretch and we missed ours"?!? What happened to "we didn't close out on Jeff Green and he made us pay"?!?

the jackass yankees don't like getting passed by the upstarts from the midwest
they think the world revolves around boston but they are old and washed up and the only thing they have left is their elitist east coast attitudes

Did anyone see the free throw discrepancy between the Cavs and Bucks last night?
Cleveland attempted 45 free throws and
Milwaukee attempted 9 free throws!!

Most C's fans here thought it was the refs, some blame David Stern for the loss

I've read more whining from the Lakers and Celtics fans over the last week about the league being rigged and scripted....ironic that those words are coming from the fan bases that represent 5 of the last 10 championships in the league.
So....
It's only scripted if they aren't winning I guess....

I think this is the case. Since the game was on KSBI I didn't tape it. Has anyone rewatched the game to see how many fouls should have been called on us? I have yet to see a game where there weren't a few bad calls but it's usually fairly often.

I can only think of one foul call on KD that was even questionable. I thought there were at least two HORRIBLE calls that went against Collison, and he fouled out (of course, Brooks didn't do any whining about that).
It is amazing that the CELTICS of all people, the favored sons of the NBA for decades, have the audacity to say that there is some league conspiracy against THEM!

The discrepancy between the fouls were obviously "in the act of shooting" vs. "on the ball/touch fouls", the latter being a majority of the calls against us, therefore limiting their free throws. Personally, I read that on ESPN last night and L'dMAO!! Even posted it to my Facebook page. I might have to add it to my favorite quotes.
The fact that he said Michael Jordan of all players is still awesome...

i defiantly think that we had some many bad fouls called on us. We should be doing the gripping here.

haha KG is so salty. The reasoning behind this is because last night is probably when he realized the squad they currently have isnt good enough to win another championship. Sucks to be him.

That's right. He's Kevin ****ing Durant.

Feel for KG. Must be tough getting old and not being the force you once were while at the same time seeing young punks getting the better of you.
KG probably feels that in his prime he could have owned Durant, and that must frustrate him.

Of course, KD hasn't reached his prime yet, and perhaps that fact frustrates KG as well.

I hope KD takes that personally. I would love for the NBA to get back to the old rivalries where teams hated each other.

KD and KG were sitting together during All-Star Weekend. I think they are buddies now KG is just frustrated.

yeah and Bush would respond by saying that their were WMDs at the Garden, add the Celtics to the 'Axis of Evil', declare war, invade 'the evil empire', stage a scene where a group of fair weathered fans destroy the Red Auerbach statue near Faneuil Hall, then change the reason of declaring war in the first place to 'we wanted to liberate the bandwagon fans from a terrible team'. And some of us would buy into it all.
