It's been stuck around 1,100 tickets for days now! Have we just not reached the hype period yet? Will that start after the next preseason game?

I don't really understand that, since Ticketmaster has been sold out for a while.

This is good news. Hopefully they have to eat a bunch of them or sell for below cost on the day of game.

What's the arena capacity? 19,100? If the tickets don't move, your drop count is starting at 18,000 right off the bat. That doesn't include other season tickets that are just no-shows. And there will be some no-shows believe it or not. If they eat them you're going to be looking at a lot of empty seats. The drop count will probably be around 17,700. Oh yeah, there will be tickets on other websites that get eaten too that will have to be factored into the drop count.

I wish the Thunder would get the damned Ticketmaster Team Exchange thing up and running. I'm probably going to have to eat most of my tickets I can't make it to a game until mid-season.
I think the Stub Hub tickets aren't selling because most of them are way overpriced. That and everyone knows that this team will be one of the worst in the league this year and next year.

I just checked the Lakers opening night on Stub-Hub. They have 1,580 tickets left. The Mavericks have 1,538 available for their opening night.
The Thunder are in great shape on that.

I may have to eat 3 separate tickets purchased from Ticketmaster because they're "Pre-Sale"...can't return'em. There's no "Sell your tickets" tab available for the event, either. You'd think it would be simpler than this...maybe it is, but I certainly don't know what that would be.

I actually bought two, even though they were way overpriced only because of the historic, chance in a lifetime event.

You should be able to forward your tickets for opening night to someone else.

I just view Stub Hub as an insurance policy in case I can't get tickets at the box office or TicketMaster. Stub Hub is way overpriced, but, like the Colonel, I would pay anything to see opening night.

Does anyone know the advantages of buying (or selling) on stubhub versus ebay? They appear to be owned by the same company.

Stubhub is much more safer. In fact, numerous sports teams in the 4 major sports actively promote Stubhub. There are buyer and seller protections as well. Tickets are going as low as $9.99 right now to opening night. Someone should announce on okctalk.com about the widespread availability to tickets, because I'm sure there are people who want to go that aren't aware of these tickets. I would, but I don't have an account. Doug?

The Thunder's ticket policy says you can't sell on ebay or craigslist. I'm sure it applies to stubhub also. Let the buyer (and seller) beware on those sites.
Keep checking ticketmaster anyway. If not now, occasionally tickets open up there and they'll keep a small number for gameday sales.

I often sold my Hornets season tickets as well as extras I bought on Ebay and never had a problem.

I had season tickets year 2 for the Hornets and don't recall their ticket policy though I used all my tickets. The Thunder definitely have a policy against ebay though we can all speculate how much of that is just to scare (most) people not to sell them there.

How can they enforce that?

It remains to be seen (in year 1 of the Thunder). Personally I hope they take a hard line on it, especially since some legit fans couldn't get season tickets because they sold out (partially to scalpers).
We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

And where did you see that Thunder ticket policy? Was that just for season tickets?

They gave us a copy at seat selection day and also mailed it with our preseason tickets. Yes, it applies to single game tickets also. I'll see if it is on the website also. I would just be careful about buying or selling. Again, they are trying to 'scare' (discourage) people from doing this and I would 'imagine' only the worst offenders will get tickets voided by the team.

I'm surprised, also, at how many people don't know about Stubhub. Last night at practice one of my friends commented that she didn't have tickets to opening night. I told her to look on Stubhub and she asked me, "What's Stubhub". There may be people going to Ticketmaster, finding nothing available, and assuming they can't get tickets.

Interesting. Well hopefully the tickets start moving. What about okctalk? Anyone mentioned anything about tickets there?

Reminder, Stubhub (offices) generally don't have these tickets themselves so it could very well be regular fans who are selling them through that service. If they don't sell there (for their price), the seller could still use the tickets themselves or give them to a friend.
The opening night tickets will get used or way or another.

It is regular fans selling them. And no it is not possible for them to sell them and use them twice. The seller either sends the hard tickets to the buyer in a prepaid fed-ex package or the seller e-mails the tickets to StubHub and stubhub cancels the original barcodes and issues new tickets with new barcodes.
My tickets will go unused, I'd rather they go unused than to sell them to some cheap bastard that only wants to give 1/5th face value. Who will probably turn around and try to scalp them.
And honestly the reason there are so many tickets available on all the ticket websites is because there are no buyers or at least there are no buyers that aren't cheapskates.

Deciding not to pay $40 (after shipping, fees, premium/markup/scalp etc.) for a $10 ticket in the nosebleeds of section 301 is not being a cheapskate. Some of the sellers are asking overnight shipping, PER TICKET. All those tickets are being scalped pure and simple.

Most of my tickets are for sale for HALF face value and I can't find anyone willing to pay more than 1/4th of that. And i've tried every ticket sale website.

The tickets you have may be to high priced for the people that are looking. You were trying to sell the $250 tickets(face value) before, and I'm sure they are good seats, but most people can not afford to pay that kind of price for seats. Even with $200 off the pair. I'm not poor, but I can not justify, at the present time, paying that much to go see one game. If I can get tickets for $25 or $50 a seat I could go to more games.

Here in lies the problem. You are unable to attend for reasons that are your own business yet someone has to ask if you are a scalper, why cant you go. What difference does it it make? You are offering tickets yet noone is buying. The reality is probably that this market is pretty much maxed out on season ticket sales and yes there were plenty of ticket brokers that bought season tickets but the Franchise & City need these.
I have read numerous times that some real fans didnt get a chance to buy season tickets so they wont buy period. BS!! These "real fans" couldnt afford the season tickets to begin with or the even worse ones who turned up their noses to 300 level tickets and now noone understands why tickets arent moving. Hell a lot of the tickets on stubhub are sold at a loss for the seller. For instance a $10 ticket on stub hub has to sell for just under $12.00 for the seller not to lose money, yet they are listed for less than the $10 face value and noone is buying.
I personally agree with you Starks if noone wants to pay face vaule I will eat my tickets for the games I cannot attend.

Well to me it's not about the money I don't care about the money I paid for my entire season tickets trading stocks for 30 minutes this morning (I love this panic and volatility). But many of the people offering to buy my tickets at a major discount only want to turn around and resell them. Everyone that wants to buy wants to rip you off. Which is fine because I don't have a problem with brokers or people who scalp tickets either. But i'd rather just eat them in this case, it is really time consuming trying to unload these things.

I don't know if they can resell Thunder tickets or not, but frontrowfans.com gives you a tax deduction if you donate tickets, which it sounds like you could use, starksfan! Then they use that money for a worthy cause. It might be worth checking to see if they can accept Thunder tickets if you don't get decent prices for them.
