But Johan Petro may be one of the best players on the team.
Had a double double tonight, with three blocks and a steal. He's played well the entire pre-season.
I watched the Sonics all last season on League Pass, it was really odd to see those players live and in person tonight.
Waaay toooo many turnovers tonight, especially from the PG position.
I did not see Baron Davis in the arena, either in uniform or streets, he must not have made the trip.
PJ had some odd line-ups in the second half, he went small quite a bit.

They mentioned during the game that Collison and Weezy were done for the night because of minor dings. Going small wasn't really a matter of choice.

Petro slightly reminds me of the raw Tyson Chandler...

Then PJ needs to start calling Byron Scott for advice immediately.

Petro is the key to this team's success; that, and figuring out how to hit outside shots. He is still very young, and has great athletic ability for a 7-footer. It looks like he bulked up quite a bit in the offseason.
I think our best lineup is:
PG Westbrook
SG Durant
SF Green
PF Wilcox
C Petro
Bench:
PG Watson
SG Wilkins
C/PF Collison
SF Mason
Really, that is not an awful lineup, provided that Westbrook can quickly get acclimated to running the point. In the future, I think we need to figure out how to get Durant to play SF with Green in the starting lineup.

To tell you the truch, I'd rather have grit and desire over talented prima donnas any day. The youth on this team may be to our advantage because they really won't know any better. If PJ can keep the team focused, I think we can sneak up on some people. The last two nights proved the Thunder can at least hang with other teams, especially at home in front of a rowdy crowd! I think we'll have something special these first two seasons, then something menacing once they taste success.
Also, on a sidenote, there's not really a bad guy (character-wise) in the whole bunch.

I love Petro's energy, he was everywhere.

Yeah, I've thought Petro looked larger than last season, but TV does funny things and I wasn't for sure. The knock on him last year was he got pushed around, he may be working on that. And yes, he has athleticism for a big.

We can't forget about Joe Smith. I believe he will still contribute some solid minutes even though he is getting older.
