The Cleveland Browns have agreed to trade troubled wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets.

In the deal, first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Jets agreed to send key special teams player Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks to Cleveland.

In Edwards, the Jets obtained a receiver that gives rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez the legitimate deep threat that the Jets have lacked -- and a player facing an NFL investigation for off-the-field trouble.

The league is probing whether Edwards violated the league's conduct policy following accusations he assaulted a friend of NBA star LeBron James outside a Cleveland nightclub on Monday night.

Is there truly any doubt that he is going to receive some kind of suspension? If Goodell allows this then he will be seen as incredibly inconsistent. I think the Browns know this or else they would have asked for more than just draft picks and C-class talent. I bet that Edwards is out for 4 weeks and when he comes back, he drops 10 beautiful passes.

yeah I agree Goodell has shown he will not put up with stupidity. My guess is he is waiting for the police to get done with there investigation. That is how he handled past cases.

Also shows that you can act like an idiot on and off the field but you make the biggest sports superstar in Ohio history mad and you are gone.
