Anything that gets rid of Dick Bavetta and Violet Palmer can't be all bad. ;)

Whatever they are getting paid now, it is way too much. The NBA has the worst officiating ever.
I say they lock all of them out permanently and throw some high school refs a few bucks to do games. The quality of the game would probably improve.

Violet Palmer isn't reffing in the NBA anymore. She's coordinator of officials in west coast conf.

Looks like the NBA operates like the government. If someone sucks at their job, just promote them.

That's possibly the dumbest post i've ever seen on a message board.

The fact is that NBA refs are some of the worst and most corrupt officiators in sports. Hurl insults at that all you want. If its the dumbest thing you've ever seen on the internet you must not get on here much.

Which part are you calling dumb? That the NBA officiating is the worst officiating ever or that High School refs could do a better job?
The first part is an exaggeration and the second part is obviously a joke.
I would rank his post on about the 33rd percentile but certainly nowhere near the 1st.

Great.
Just when our all-star (KD) can finally begin to have some influence over the refs, they bring in the second string.
Who knows, maybe that equates to more influence.

I actually don't think NBA refs are all that bad. Sure they make some mistakes but I think they make a lot less mistakes than they get credit for. And honestly as fast as the game is and as many things as there are to watch for i'm surprised they don't make more mistakes than they do. Basketball is the hardest sport to officiate. It's not possible for a referee to be perfect. If you want a perfectly officiated basketball game you'd need probably 20 referees instead of 3, but then you couldn't see the game. I'm actually often impressed at how few mistakes NBA referees make.
And 80% of the time when I hear people complaining about NBA refs it's usually just flat out homerism, their team lost so they blame it on the refs. Just an excuse. "my team would have won but the referees made a bad call blah blah blah." The rest of the time people just don't understand the game or the rules or the unwritten rules.
As far as high school refs. High School refs are horrible, horrible just like High School players. To say that they could replace professionals is ridiculous.

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm sometimes guilty of homerism when it comes to officiating, but that's because I have Thunder blinders when I see a Thunder game. For as fast as the game moves, I think the refs do a good job of officiating. And I love the whole "stars get all the calls" debate. Lebron, Wade, Kobe, CP3, MJ, Shaq all shot/shoot inordinate amounts of free throws. But that's because the ball is in their hands 60 - 90% of the time and they are ALWAYS attacking the basket. I'd be willing to bet 75% of their free throw attempts come from driving to the basket fouls. Believe me, if KD continues to improve, he'll be getting these calls too. He too drives hard to the basket, and that will equate to many free throw attempts.

After watching the Storm get ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY HOSED by the refs today, I am afraid of what will happen if these WNBA refs fill in.
