I'm not sure if this is within another thread here but this person thinks the T-Wolves will trade up for the #2 pick and take Rubio.

Wizards could be East contender; Wolves eye Rubio
By David Aldridge, TNT analyst

The Washington Wizards took a bold step toward becoming a contender in the East on Tuesday, while the Minnesota Timberwolves hope they now have enough ammunition to move up to the second pick in Thursday's NBA draft -- their target, Spanish teenage star Ricky Rubio.

The Wizards, as expected, agreed to deal the No. 5 pick in the Draft, picking Minnesota's offer of guard Randy Foye and forward Mike Miller for the fifth pick and three veterans -- centers Etan Thomas and Oleskiy Pecherov, and forward/center Darius Songalia. The Wolves now hope to package their fifth and sixth pick in a deal with Memphis for the second overall pick, which they would use to take Rubio, the 19-year-old guard who played last season with DKV Joventut and starred on the Spanish Olympic team that won the silver medal in an epic battle with the United States last summer.

The Washington-Minnesota deal was not officially done Tuesday night, though it was expected to be completed by Wednesday. The teams were leaning in the direction of making the deal, according to a league source.

Honest to God, I put "Nas" on purpose, cuz a nickname I use in fantasy b-ball is K-Nas, for when talking trash cuz I keep predicting injuries....i.e. Nas is cool, Nos is not...

The same David Aldridge that used to be the go-to-guy for breaking NBA news several years ago, but is now relegated to sideline reporting the B and C games?

I don't care too much for him myself, but you have to admit he is one of the more credible nba reporters.....espn...tnt...nbatv....

he ain't no stephen A., getting a text seconds before the Philly draft pick, and blurting out "Philly will take Thaddeus Young, in my estimation"....LOL..as if he collected his thoughts and that was the result of his analysis....

this mock draft has Minn taking Hardon and Tyreke at the #'s 5 & 6! If this were to happen, then I'd say they keep both picks for themselves....what a backcourt...

That would be stupid. I don't care if Tyreke played PG at Memphis. The NBA is a whole new ballgame and he's much better suited off the ball at this level. They need to go with Flynn or Curry with one pick and then Tyreke, Derozan or Harden with the other one unless of course they trade both for the #2.

yea, but they still got sebastian to run the true point, if tyreke ends up being better suited on the wing....

If they really want Evans, I think he would best be paired with Curry. Evans is a ball-dominating wing with no jump shot, and Curry is a combo guard who can play off the ball and is effective off the catch and shoot. If they want Harden, Flynn would complement him very well as a slashing PG. If they want DeRozan, he's a weak ballhandler that would probably work best with a pure PG like Flynn.

Here's thoughts from another 'talking head'.

Draft buzz
By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

Editor’s note: This is the latest from around the league; be sure to check back throughout the day for more NBA draft updates.

As the Minnesota Timberwolves prepare to make a push for Memphis’ pick at No. 2, it’s become clear that they won’t package the fifth and sixth picks to get there. The Wolves have made it clear to teams that are trying to pry their 18th pick that it isn’t available. They want to use that in combination with one of the two higher picks to make a deal with Memphis.
