That a lot of gm's have heard okc is going to draft harden. Harden canceled interviews with all teams outside of top five and the word is that he is okc bound and will be nabbed by Washington if he falls.
Music to my ears. I think harden will be a very good career role player at sg.

I would be content with that. Harden would have a clear defined role on this team. he may not have the upside of alot of the other guards in the draft but he has the type of game that we totally lack, a pure outside shooter who can back down smaller two guards. he could wind up being a poor mans paul pierce, someone who isnt going to out athlete alot of people but a heady player with range and the strength to finish jumpshots through contact. Additionally he is the type of player that is valuable in almost every type of system. Players like Thabeet and Rubio, you sort of have to change your style to fit their strenghts. Harden is a traditional two guard that you can just plug into any system.

We might as well have slipped to the 6th or 7th pick...
Edit: We might as well trade down to the 6th or 7th pick...

I only recall mock drafts saying that.

Last year, Presti settled on Westbrook. He knew he could get him at #6 or #7 and tried to trade down (with the Clippers, incidentally). This year, I think he will (or maybe even HAS) settle on the player he wants and then go about drafting him and perhaps acquiring more assets to boot.
That player may well be Harden. But Presti may be thinking he can get him at #5 or #6. Washington has a lot of assets that may be of interest. We will see. WHEN IS THE DRAFT AGAIN?

Mock drafts are based on Rumors, intuition and "gut".

DRAFT EXPRESS definately has the best information that I've seen on the draft.
I'm good with Harden as our pick. If we can trade down 2-3 spots and still get him along with another asset, all the better.

Moving past no 4 and harden goes to Sacramento or Washington. I wouldn't mind sending Watson to the kings for udrih and switch picks. Or we can move further down to get jrue holiday.

Minnesota is the one with alot assets:
Timberwolves
2009 #6 pick
2009 #18 pick
2009 #28 pick
2010 Jazz 1st rounder (top 15 protected through 2013, unprotected thereafter)
Maybe Minnesota would be interested in tradeing the #6, #18 and 2010 Jazz first rounder for out #3 and #25 picks.

I don't think anybody would give up that much in this draft. It is a poor draft year and nobody is wanting the number 3 pick.

Why would we swap Watson for Udrih to move drop a spot in the draft? Watson is an expiring contract and Udrih has four years left on a deal that the Kings have been trying to dump ever since they re-signed him last summer. The Kings would trade Udrih for Watson straight up in a heart beat. Besides, four years at the mid-level is a lot for a PG who is slow, unathletic, and a complete liability on defense.

Agreed. We should just draft Harden, and then sign Gortat to a million or two above the MLE.

An expiring is worthless unless you use it to sign somebody. We used our two most valuable expirings to acquire malik rose after we sent chandler back. Thus becoming worthless.
Beno is an old presti pick and get 12 pts and 4 assists a game. We have enough room to add undeih and gortat to modest salaries. I'd take on a 4 year, 5 million contract for a 12 ppg pg if it gets Watson out of here before the guys report.
For Watson to have the most value we will have to hold him and play him up to the feb deadline. That will kill our team.

Hold him yes, PLAY him, no. 2010 playoff contending teams that need a backup PG know what they're getting in Watson. We don't need to give him minutes to raise his trade value. That would NOT be worth it for our team. We need to give those minutes for Westbrook and Livingston's (or Rubio or Harden) development.
