That value of the pick is better in a package deal. There is no point drafting Hasheem, just another project big man that proved nothing in college. He's going to get eaten alive in the pros. Let's get a 1 or 5 in a trade that we couldn't pic up in free agency.

What about Rubio?

Um, no. You need to get over your bitterness about falling out of the Griffin sweepstakes. It was obvious that was going to happen, and, honestly, we did great by landing the third pick. We'll either select Thabeet or Rubio (depending on who is available) and move on from there.
There are a series of logical free agent moves for either selection, and Presti will be prepared to implement a plan in either scenario.

Bitterness?
We got the third pick in what many see as a two player draft. I don't see Thabeet being able to beat out Kristic for a starting position anytime soon, if ever.
I hope Presti can take advantage of a GM who overvalues Thabeet, in a trade.

AMEN! Unless Memphis is actually stupid enough to take Thabeet over Blonde Ricky, we have a good chance of tricking a delusional GM into overbidding for Thabeet.
