I R here. :D

My avatar is not appearing and my signature image is not appearing, though (only the link). I used the exact text from the old profile page. I'll see if I can fix it.

I've tried in both Firefox 3 and IE Explorer 6, same results: (1) I am unable to enter an avator ... the radio button is selected for "Don't use avatar" and no options exist to change that; and (2) the image for my signature line only shows up as a link. As to the avatar issue, I had the same problem at OkcTalk which uses this software and an admin had to enter the avatar for me.

Here's what my avatar panel looks like:

What is the latest on ticket sales. Did they sell out (minus the tickets they were going to reserve)??

And that doesn't include the 2500 corporate tickets purchased. Wonder if they will sell out all the mini plans?

LOL even the new smileys are cool. They're a lot better than the old ones. Too bad we lose all our post counts, but all in the name of progress! Great job, Betts. Time to send you a donation.

Actually, I believe I can edit your post count to give you your grand total. I'm keeping a list of names of people who'd like their old post count and I'll do them all at once.

Hopefully, we'll have a new front page soon too, so there will be blogs to read, as well as a game calendar.

I'm in for post count, and I'm sure Paul will be too. His first reaction when I told him he wouldn't get his post count was "man, I'm not even signing up." :D

This forum really looks outstanding!! You've done such an incredible job on it. Question: if we have various smilies/emoticons we've collected from other places or made, can we submit them for use here? Also, I want to second the idea of donating - please let me know where I can!

If I can figure out how to add the smilies, I'd be very happy to do so. This has been a rather rapid learning experience for me, as there is a lot more to vbulletin that phpBB, I'm discovering.

I've been googling this morning for "nba season ticket sales 2008" to see what reports I can find from other teams. I've not found anything definitive yet, but here is quite an interesting article for the Jazz 2007-08 season ... what's interesting is not so much about the Jazz, but about Miami ... see http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4188/is_/ai_n19503082

Jazz lead surge in NBA season ticket sales

The excitement that a young Utah Jazz team brought to the court last season, even well before it made the run to the NBA Western Conference Finals, has translated so well at the box office that the Jazz are leading the league in new season tickets sold for the 2007- 08 season with 5,300.

That number is second all-time in the NBA, eclipsed only by the 8,000-plus new full-season tickets purchased in Miami when Shaquille O'Neal left the Los Angeles Lakers for Florida, said NBA senior vice president for team marketing and business operations Scott O'Neil.
Our 13,000 is looking pretty sweet, ain't it? :)

The article continues ...

The EnergySolutions Arena lower bowl is essentially sold out for 2007-08, and about 15,000 season tickets have been purchased in all, leaving fewer than 5,000 available for single games in the 19,911- seat building.
Now that's interesting ... the Jazz arena is about 700 seats greater than the Ford Center's 19,200 or so. Yet they sold 15,000 season tickets compared to our 13,000 ... well, maybe that number includes corporate sales, also, in which case our numbers would be essentially identical.

ON EDIT: Another 2007 Jazz article at http://www.bizofbasketball.com/?option=com_content&view=article&id=290&Itemid=1 gives some general stats for last season ...

The Utah Jazz lead the NBA in full-season ticket sales, passing teams that have ranked high in that category prior, such as the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and Los Angeles Lakers.

To date, the Jazz have sold 14,500 full-season tickets, a new record for the franchise. As reported by the Sports Business Journal:

Fueling the Jazz's rise to the top of the league is an increase of 5,400 new full-season packages sold to date, the second-highest one-year gain in league history. That figure represents $6.5 million in revenue, team officials said.

The 5,400 new full-ticket plans come after the Jazz raised prices by an average of 5 percent. The Golden State Warriors are close behind the Jazz in new full-season-ticket sales with 5,200 sold this year.

Think that the Tim Donaghy scandal or Thomas sexual harassment suit has created a negative view of the NBA, and therefore decreased sales in terms of full-season tickets? Think again. According to the report, the NBA is seeing an increase of 8 percent from last year.

The NBA will not release specific season-ticket rankings, but this year 12 teams have full-season-ticket sales of more than 10,000. Those teams are Utah, Cleveland, Miami, Golden State, New York, Phoenix, San Antonio, Toronto, Chicago, Dallas and the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers
That puts our sales into a very very favorable perspective. Including corporate sales (which I'm assuming the Jazz numbers do, also), our 15,000 must be very near the top. Interestingly, Detroit is not in the teams listed above.
