Denver Nuggets (32-16) at Oklahoma City Thunder (11-37), 7pm on Wednesday at the Ford Center.

Denver beat (an undermanned) Spurs team on Tuesday and are having a very good season so far. Of course it took a buzzer beater in the last Denver/OKC game in OKC to defeat the Thunder. This is the start of a 3 game homestand.

The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.

The line opened with Denver favored by 5.5 points but it's down to 3. Billups is questionable and Martin is doubtful. The total is 212.5.

We owe them one from last time, and Joe Smith is coming back tonight, so that should help. Hopefully they can play well starting now because there's a tough stretch coming up for us. I would feel much better if the Spurs would've actually played them last night and worn them down for us instead of trotting out their bench and basically forfeiting the game. Close but no cigar for us tonight...

Rich Creamies - 105
Thunder - 100

Tiebreak: Green scores 30 + points.

Looking at the odds at Yahoo Sports (where they list the bookies websites), it is now down to 1 1/2 point favorites for Denver. Good news on the HD broadcast for those that receive that.

This was more painful than last time because the players did'nt decide it. MANY MANY just wrong calls and that over and back at the end is a brand new one to me.

I know you can throw the ball in to the backcourt in the last 2 minutes, but according to Dick Baveta, it is o.k. for the offense to tip the ball first without controlling it. That surprises me but I suppose he knows what he is talking about.

The Nuggets inbound play at the end was truly an OVER & BACK; We were sitting at mid-court; no Thunder play touched the ball, it was mishandled by the Nug player then went to the back court. Should have been Thunder ball with plenty of time on the clock.
That was a backbreaking play but just one of many mis-calls all night long, on both sides of the ball. Seems we were getting more favorable calls in the first half and Denver was getting PLENTY in the second and moreover, towards the end.

Haven't seen the box score but some ugly turnovers, few key missed shots and free throws did not help us. But in the end, IMO, this game was lost by the whistle of three "impartial" officials, one of whom needs to retire. One of the others needs to get a life outside NBA but not wearing stripes and a whistle.

Thunder played impressively hard. Was fun to watch, disheartening to lose.

Lets put this one behind us and kick some Trailblazer butt on Friday.

Go THUNDER!!!!

I gotta give former OKC Hornets JR Smith and Chris Andersen credit for playing well for the Nuggets. JR was as hot as could be for most of the second half. When the ball left his hands from 3 point range, you knew it would be nothing but net. Birdman brought a lot of energy and inside play to their team as well.

They almost got a 'T' on the sideline when he fouled out. I'm not sure what the complaint was, that it was another Nugget player who had fouled or what. For some reason I thought it was only his 5th foul but I could be wrong on that.

Here's an article about the backcourt violation rule and a possible protest being filed by the Thunder. It was a judgment call so they wouldn't win anyway.

No one is talking about Durant's 35 foot jump shot off the in bounds play with 5 seconds left in the game. That's the best shot you could get? You can't design a play to get to the basket? Unbelieveable! I was more pissed about that than anything. Take the ball to the frickin' basket and either dash it off or get fouled. We have no one to blame for that play.

Russell was indecisive on that play... He knew what he was supposed to do, but he didnt know what to do if what he were supposed to do wasnt there... That's a real rookie mistake... (I have to actually remind myself that he's still a rook)... In the future, if that happens again... Russell fakes the pass, drives to the rack, either draws a foul or makes a shot off glass...

The play was likely for Durant to shoot all the way.

But when Denver blew it up... He's got to be able to improvise... Basketball cannot be a "this play and nothing else" sport. This is also where Brooks failed as coach... You've got to give RWO options...

Option 1. KD off the curl screen.
Option 2. Improvise, Create your own shot. Get to the rim. Draw a foul.

It kills me when people want to blame the officials for losses. Forget about the missed field goals, free throws, coaching mistakes, and turnovers. The Thunder had plenty of chances to put the game away and did not. We always want to put the blame somewhere else.

I wasn't blaming the officials for the loss.... Agreed we had our channces to win and didn't make the plays but if you think officials don't make a difference your kidding yourself....Would just like to see um get it right thats all.

So nobody even cares that we're giving away possessions like 12 y/o boys at a NAMBLA convention earlier in the 4th? I mean if we took care of business, instead of telegraphing lob passes from one side of the court to the other, and getting trapped by two defenders who take the ball away like it was government cheese, then maybe we would have something to bitch about the calls and the bad play calling/making at the end of the game. IMO we have nothing to bitch about when lazy ball is played at important moments earlier in the game. It shouldn't have been that close to begin with.

So you don't care that will all the (as you saw it) atrocious play that we only lost by 1 and had any of the calls been made we don't lose? Forget 12yr olds any volunteer parent ref for 1st graders could have seen the non-kicked ball or the back court. Maybe if the refs don't allow the double team on Watson to become a mugging--You know what I could go on & on but it boils down to this. If you think for a second that games are not decided by the officiating you are living in a dream world. And as long as we stink we will continue to get the short end of the stick.
Forget his personal stats how much better would the Thunder's record be if Durant got calls like Wade or Lebron?

I hoping that they, or more accurately, the "holy trinity" (as they've been called... which cracked me up) get calls like those guys do... winning will produce that, i agree. They are building that foundation/reputation and the officials will soon (if they havent allready) notice and reward that. May not like it... but thats how the NBA has been for years...

Refs making hundreds of decisions every game. They do not get every call right. They are human. I remember Denver reacting to a few calls the Thunder received. In the end it all evens out. Did the refs make enough bad calls for the Thunder to blow a 16 point lead? Cut back on the stupid turnovers and we aren't having this discussion.

If I've heard once I've heard it a thousand times. When teams lose some else is always to blame (usually the officials). When they win it's, "wow we played great tonight."
