Nick Carita and Jeremy Owen Join XP Events

Denver – XP Events, the turn-key retail merchandising partner for sports organizations and world-class events, has expanded its staff to support its NBA clients and continued growth of the company. XP Events has hired Nick Carita to serve as the Senior Event Manager for operations in Oklahoma City in support of the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA franchise. XP Events has also hired Jeremy Owen to serve as a Senior Buyer based in Seattle but serving multiple clients across the United States.

As the Senior Event Manager in Oklahoma City, Nick Carita will be responsible for day-to-day retail operations for the Oklahoma City Thunder franchise, including retail merchandising at the Ford Center arena, the team store located downtown Oklahoma City, and the franchise’s retail website, www.nbathundershop.com. Carita joins XP Events from the Seattle SuperSonics, where he managed retail merchandising. Carita has relocated to Oklahoma City to take on this role supporting the Thunder. Jeremy Owen also joins XP Events from the Seattle SuperSonics and will serve as a Senior Buyer for XP Events clients. In this role, Owen will be responsible for merchandise selection, purchasing and inventory management.

“Nick and Jeremy are highly experienced and highly accomplished retail merchandising professionals, and we are very pleased that they have joined XP Events,” said Alan Fey, President of XP Events. “Jeremy will be a tremendous asset to our buying team, bringing tremendous experience and creativity to this important role for our clients. Having Nick at the helm in Oklahoma City provides outstanding leadership for the Thunder’s retail operations, ensuring that merchandising is not only a significant revenue driver for the team but also a key means of building a strong brand in the community.”

Not exactly breathtaking news, but ...

As all of this was unfolding I had hoped & still hoping that PBC would go out of its way to purchase any & everything that it possibly could from businesses in Oklahoma. After what the taxpayers of OKC & to a lesser extent the State of Oklahoma have done for them it would a small favor to ask. And since the majority of the merchandise will be purchased here if it cost a little more to get it locally we will be the ones paying a little more to help keep or expand jobs here.

I believe the XP Events contract was a hold over from Seattle.
