Center Robert Swift recently sustained a broken bone in his right hand and has been unable to fully participate in the team's voluntary workouts and is likely to be limited in training camp and the preseason.

Swift is entering this season recovering from March surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

“Robert has been unable to play less because of his leg and more because of his hand,” coach P.J. Carlesimo said. “That's prevented him from playing in any of the live stuff. He does individual stuff with (assistant coach) Mark Bryant. But he's doing most of it with his left hand. We're just trying to go as slow as we can, and hopefully by next week he'll be ready to go.

“We're hopeful, but we're prepared that maybe he can't go the whole practice or maybe he can't go two practices in a row. It's probably going to be to his tolerance.”

Its only one year for $3.6 million.

3.6 million would be handy this year for another veteran presence.

Not that we don't have the space otherwise...

What, did he sprain his hand signing his $3.6MM contract?!?!

I've been on board with this guy, but my patience is wearing thin.

He'll be ready for the regular season and that is all that matters ... until he gets injured again in the regular season.

I will take up a roster spot for a lot less money than we are paying Swift. Hell I will even earn my keep by schlepping some equipment around or running errands or something.

Think about it Clay.

Is that what you said about Tyson Chandler when the Hornets brought him in? :p
